The Company continuously breaks through key core technologies, accelerating the innovation, upgrade, and application of smart energy solutions for PV storage. Trinasolar provides excellent products and services to global customers, working together with partners to build a beautiful zero-carbon new world.
Technology Leadership and Continuous Innovation
With innovation-driven development as its most important strategy and core driving force, Trinasolar has put in place a comprehensive and leading science and innovation system. On independent innovation, Trinasolar established an innovation platform, focusing on basic, cutting-edge, and thematic research for the new generation of photovoltaic technology. It actively supports the building of a collaborative innovation community in the Yangtze River Delta region, and promotes the globalization of the R&D system and build an industrial science and technology creation center with global influence. In 2024, Trinasolar renewed its collaboration with Fudan University to establish a university-industry laboratory for advanced photovoltaic technologies. On collaborative innovation, the company takes the lead in preparing for the establishment of a new generation of photovoltaic technology and equipment manufacturing innovation center, unites the upstream and downstream enterprises of the industrial chain, universities, jointly lays out a new generation of photovoltaic products - crystalline silicon stacked solar cells, so as to contribute to the creation of an innovation platform with global influence. We are jointly advancing the strategic deployment of next-generation photovoltaic products, particularly crystalline silicon tandem solar cells, to build a globally influential innovation platform. Meanwhile, Trinasolar is actively driving the elevation of the Yancheng–Changzhou–Suqian–Huai'an photovoltaic cluster into a national advanced manufacturing one, accelerating its progress toward becoming a world-class industrial hub.

The Company works closely with world-class R&D and certification testing institutions to build a technological innovation team consisting mainly of outstanding scientific researchers at home and abroad. As a pioneer among Chinese PV and energy storage enterprises to participate in the formulation of international standards, Trinasolar has become the innovation leader and standard-setter in the global solar energy industry. Trinasolar continues to maintain its leading position in the Chinese PV and energy storage industry in terms of the number of valid invention patents, and it tops the Global Perovskite Solar Cell Invention Patent Ranking. So far, Trinasolar’s SKL has set or broken 35 world records in terms of PV cell conversion efficiency and module output power.
Product Circulation and Recycling
Trinasolar places significant emphasis on the recycling and reuse of products at the conclusion of their lifecycle. It maintains close collaboration with partners at all points in the industry chain, continuously overcoming technical challenges. The Company promotes the establishment of a recycling and reuse system for decommissioned photovoltaic modules, explores commercial and large-scale paths for module recycling, and is committed to opening up a green recycling pathway for the photovoltaic industry.
The Company is committed to exploring feasible business models, adhering strictly to the EU's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) and the EU's Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH Regulation), and voluntarily participating in product recycling programs. The Company is also engaged in long-term cooperation with PV CYCLE to establish a recycling and processing mechanism for photovoltaic modules. It assists customers in recycling and reusing solar modules that need to be replaced or have reached the end of their life, reducing the environmental impact of waste while maximizing resource utilization. In February 2025, the Company, in collaboration with industry ecosystem partners, released the "2024 China Photovoltaic Recycling and Circular Utilization White Paper." This document explores the industrial space and technical paths for photovoltaic product recycling, and helps advance the green governance of the entire Chinese photovoltaic manufacturing chain.
Intellectual property protection
Patent navigation empowers and enhances employees' intellectual property awareness and capabilities
The IPEnlightment series of empowerment activities for all employees of Trinasolar to safeguard the company's innovation and intellectual property development. The number of participants in this training exceeded 1,000, and the coverage increased by 100% compared with 2022.
In order to apply what they have learned, the company held the second "Tianhe Cup" Patent Search Competition, with more than 100 people registering to participate, reflecting the significant improvement of Tianhe employees' intellectual property awareness and professional level.

Trinasolar's Yancheng base was selected as one of the outstanding units in the national intelligent manufacturing scene
The major national projects jointly carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, and the State Administration for Market Regulation.
In 2023, Yancheng Technology implemented digital systems such as the production execution system (MES), quality management system (QMS), production traceability data system, equipment Internet of Things system (RFID), and used intelligent hardware such as automatic guided vehicles (AGV) to achieve a comprehensive improvement in the company's automation, digitalization and intelligence levels, and was successfully selected as one of the national outstanding intelligent manufacturing scenarios.
Trinasolar Qinghai Factory builds digital operation cockpit to achieve leading automated management
Trinasolar's Qinghai factory explores automated production models, combines production operations and automated equipment through the production of the Internet of Things (IoT), realizes automated centralized control of crystal pulling production, and improves labor and machine efficiency. At the same time, the Qinghai factory builds a digital operation cockpit, using 2D visual dashboards and 3D digital management and monitoring to monitor and manage equipment operation, AGV operation, furnace operation, etc. in real time, achieving leading production automation management.
Trinasolar was named a pioneer in digital transformation at the 6th Dingge Awards, and its quality control was recognized
The "Dingge Award " Digital Transformation Pioneer List was jointly initiated by Harvard Business Review, Tsinghua University Global Industry Research Institute and SAP to recognize pioneering companies that have performed outstandingly in the digital transformation of Chinese companies.
